Ok this goes way back to the arcades. I guess I'll review it!
Story: Well I'm not really going to rate this but it's nice to know what's going on.
Ok, the godess Ishtar has given Gil (Gilgamesh) her blessing and he has to defeat the evil god Druaga and rescue the priestess of Istar, Ki. To reach him you have to climb up his tower (60 floors.)
pretty staightfoward, right?
Controls: Well you're joystick controls Gil and the button makes Gil draw his sword. His sword will stay out in front of him until you let go of the button. When you're sword is sheathed youwill block ranged attacks from the front with your shield. When your sword is out in front you will block ranged attacks that come from Gil's left with the shield. I think this is a simple, effective way of doing things and Namco did a great job.
My Verdict: 10/10
Gameplay: The goal is simple, find the key and get to the exit. Each floor higher More and different enemies appear and thing will start to happen. For example, after a certain floor the key becomes invisible. Also, by doing certain things on certain floors a treasure box will appear containing Items that will often help on your quest (like special equipment that increases how fast you move, etc. but they may also take a certain stat down). Some treasures are required to finish the game. A fun addicting game but can get repetitive.
My Verdict: 9/10
Over-all: A very fun game. You can play it in some of the Namco Museum games. I think the game will challenge you for a long time but if you do beat the game you will probably be very happy with yourself and your gaming ability.
Great game a definite 10/10
I've only gotten to floor 9
