++Picking a proficiency doesn't mean that you can only use that proficiency's weapons, example--> You chose "Melee" that doesn't mean you can't use guns, it just means you aren't as good with them.
Abilities-----

MAX DamageG (raise the damage guns can do)
Aiming (lowers your chance of missing a shot)
Reload speed (raise the speed of how fast you reload)
MAX Ammo (raise the amount of ammo you can carry)
Melee----
MAX DamageM (raise the damage weapons do)
Accuracy (lowers your chance of missing)
Swinging Speed (raises how fast you can swing a weapon)
Two Handed (allows you to hold a weapon in each hand)
Traps----
MAX DamageT+G (raise the damage traps and grenades do)
Success Rate (raises the chance of your trap working)
Setting Speed (raises the speed that you can lay traps
MAX Traps (raises the number of traps you can lay at one time)
++You start out with 3 *'s. Each * can be used to raise the Lv. of an ability. Each ability has 10 Lvs. Each Lv. takes 1 *, except for "MAX Ammo", "MAX Traps", and "Two Handed" which cost 2 *'s each Lv. (After Lv.1 "Two Handed" each Lv. after that will lowers your off hand penalty)
